FUNCTION: Isc - test whether the argument is an element of the cycle index basis

CALLING SEQUENCE:

Isc(expr)

TYP[Isc](expr)

PARAMETERS:

expr = any expression

SYNOPSIS:

• The Isc function tests whether the argument expr is an element of the cycle index basis, that is c[part] where part denotes a partition in non-increasing order.

• Each c[part] is the cycle index of the conjugacy class indexed by part.

• Whenever there is a conflict between the function name Isc and another name used in the same session, use the long form TYP['Isc'].

EXAMPLES:
