FUNCTION: Free2Pol - from words to polynomials

CALLING SEQUENCE:

PARAMETERS:

free = any element of the free algebra

SYNOPSIS:

• The Free2Pol function projects the free algebra onto the algebra of polynomials. It sends each word w[n1, n2, ..., nk] to the monomial x.n1 * x.n2 * ... * x.nk.

• Whenever there is a conflict between the function name Free2Pol and another name used in the same session, use the long form FREE['Free2Pol'].

EXAMPLES:

> with(FREE):
> Free2Pol(w[1,2,1] + w[2,1,1] + z*w[1,3,2]);
