French title : Master Informatique spécialité Science Informatique.
English title : Master of Computer Science
Short description of the program:
The Department of Computer Science at the University of
Marne-la-Vallée (near Paris, France), offers advanced graduate study
leading to a Master of Science degree in Computer Science. This degree
is also accreditated by the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées
(ENPC) and the École Supérieure d'Ingénieurs en Électronique et
Électrotechnique (ESIEE).
Both the theoretical and applied aspects of
computer science are emphasized in this program. The program offers
courses in a wide range of areas in computer science, including
imaging, 3D data visualization, network programming, bio-informatics
and genome analysis, formal language theory, text algorithms, and
combinatorics. These areas correspond to the main research interests
of the research laboratories involved in the program.
A graduate of the master's degree program described above is well
prepared for continuing studies towards a Ph.D., or for immediate
employment in the computing field. Graduates from the program pursue
careers in areas such as operating systems, software engineering,
programming language development, applications of imaging, and
genomics.
